We hope you can join us on Wednesday May 24th at 6 p.m. at the Frick Fine Arts we are having preview screening of a very special episode of “The Reel Teens: Breaking the Stigma” This show is produced, directed, and hosted by award-winning teens who honestly and courageously explore issues about adolescent anxiety and depression. It is unlike any half hour show of its kind in that it is teens talking to teens about a topic which have been the center of heated debate in light of Netflix’s series “13 Reasons Why” which sends controversial messages about teen suicide. There will be a discussion afterwards with the teens and leading mental health professionals.
The Reel Teens just won two awards from the Mid-Atlantic Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), the organization which gives out the Emmys. If you have not seen the show, please visit www.thereelteens.com
We hope this show will be the beginning of a large public discussion to dispel the stigma of mental health issues, particularly among teens. For further information, contact Michael Bartley at 412-251-0890 or Michael@steeltown.org
